Dacotah Bank opened new branch when many major bank branches are closing; market president explains

More than 220 bank branches have closed in the United States within the first two months of 2024, according to official U.S. Government data from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

And it’s not just smaller banks. Federal regulators found national banks and community banks are closing branches at a rate of about 50/50.

So, Dacotah Bank’s decision to expand its brick-and-mortar presence into Bismarck last year was an unusual one.
