Bismarck to take part in homeowner loan program; Gate City Bank already offers program in Mandan

The city of Bismarck has agreed to take part in a program that provides low-interest loans to homeowners to help revitalize older housing in the community.

The effort will further the objectives of Bismarck's Comprehensive Plan, including affordable homeownership and neighborhood vitality, according to City Planning Manager Daniel Nairn.

Gate City Bank operates a low-interest loan program for homeowners in several cities in the region, including Fargo and Mandan. The City Commission on Tuesday voted unanimously to support the program in Bismarck.
