Jason Tomanek has accepted the Bismarck City Commission's offer to become the next city administrator.
Tomanek has been acting city administrator since the beginning of the year, when his predecessor Keith Hunke retired. He comes to the role after serving as the assistant city administrator since 2016, when he became the second-ever person to hold the job. City commissioners interviewed three finalists for the city administrator role on Thursday, selected Tomanek as their top choice and extended a job offer soon after.
The city announced Friday that Tomanek had accepted. His starting salary will be $195,000 annually with city benefits; his predecessor's salary upon retirement was $215,000.
